Over December and January we have been busy doing what we call a hardening release. This is where we look at areas in Saasu we can improve for our existing customers and also work on areas such as our API, subscription system and performance. The idea is simple, provide a better product and service.
What’s New?
- Profit & Loss Summary and Detail reports can now be run in Cash mode for GLOBAL files.
- New Merge Fields are now available for Statements.
- The API now supports some e-commerce features; IsVirtual, IsVisable and VType (Virtual Type).
- You can now create Vouchers Codes which can be used by e-commerce websites to apply discounts.
What’s Changed?
- The concept of a Report TAG has been removed. All Tags can now be used in Reports.
- A new Help System is now live for easier access to FAQ Answers and our Screen Guides.
- Your My Saasu area now let’s you have different types of Saasu files within your single subscription.
- The Sandbox file service for developers has been replaced with a Saasu Free file approach.

Online accounting are really needed and worth investing if you need fast and reliable report generation.

Some nice new features, as usual, do you think you’ll be adding the option to use tags for the Statement report?

Hi Glenn,
We would need to understand the need first. Haven’t had any requests for this yet. Shoot us an email to service at saasu.com

Do you know if and when we will be able to set trading terms for each contact that will carry over to an invoice/purchase, setting the “Due” field to reflect the trading terms set on the contact. It is very frustrating having to look up or remember what a regular clients trading terms are. The current Australian business trading terms are COD, 7DAY, 14DAYS, 30DAYS & 30DAYS EOM (after end of month).

I reckon Saasu rocks ! I use it for three separate companies and science club.
However my accountant is not keen to get in access it when it comes tax time. They even had the gall to suggest it was not a real accounting package for businesses turning over hundreds of thousands of dollars … without even having looked at it. Could you do us two favours:
1. Issue PDF outline of Saasu and the user base that users can send to their accountants to educate them.
2. A quick start guide for accountants who are delving into Saasu journals and reports to audit accounts and prepare tax returns for their clients.

@james We are a quiet achiever as you know. Your accountant would be shocked by the size and names of companies that use Saasu.

Is it possible to have an ‘all’ filter on sales dates? We hacked up one with greasemonkey, but this is obviously not ideal. Also it seems the ‘last year’ filter has disappeared. Can it return?
Thanks

@matt. “All” generates massive reports and lists for large customers. So to be upfront it causes us performance headaches providing this. We are trying to avoid pagination as it was one of the most hated things about the web when we surveyed customers opinion of web applications. We recognise low volume transaction files need it. We will likely include it on the basis the file falls under a certain size or some other rule. “Custom” was provided as a way to get all data. We have only had a couple of requests since then for an “All” choice. So it will be back but not until we haveknocked over a coupole of key features to be announced in coming months.

The current method of generating customer statements is very time consuming having to do one at a time. Can we please have a check list showing paid and unpaid status and amounts and with a tick box beside each name so we can choose who we need to send monthly statements to? This will enable bulk generation which will be much faster and more efficient.

@Nick You’ll be able to automate your statements and reminders soon. It’s built and will be out in about a week
